What do I need to do to use Appirio Contact Sync?
Appirio Contact Sync synchronizes information between the Salesforce and Google Apps Address Books. You'll need to be a salesforce.com and Google Apps user to use this product. You'll also need Salesforce administrative rights to inst

all Appirio Contact Sync in your Salesforce org.

How do I get started with Appirio Contact Sync?
1) Go to our appexchange listing and click "Get it now"

2) Salesforce will walk you through the process of logging in, reviewing the terms and conditions, reviewing the package contents, and installing and deploying the application

3) After deploying, switch to "Appirio Contact Sync" from your drop down application menu, and click "About Contact Sync" You'll see our setup wizard, followed by our documentation (also see https://appirio.com/products/contactsync/help.php) Click on the "Installation and Configuration Walkthrough" for screenshots on how to complete the remaining steps in the installation.

Can I use Contact Sync with my personal Gmail address book?
At this time, Appirio Contact Sync only works with your organization's Google Apps account, not your peronsal Gmail account. This will change soon-- contact us at support@appirio.com if you're interested!

What are the limitations of Appirio Contact Sync?
Unfortunately, Google and Salesforce store contacts differently. We offer several advanced settings to work around these issues (e.g., name and address parsing options) but not every contact can by synced between the two systems. See the online help inside the product for the latest list of limitations.

Is Appirio Contact Sync really free? What's the "Premium" edition?
Yes, the standard version of contact sync is free! The standard edition of Appirio Contact Sync will continue to be offered for free as part of Salesforce for Google Apps.  You may wish to upgrade to our premium edition if:

  • You value unlimited sync (e.g., frequency of sync, time window, number of contacts)
  • You value having both calendar and contact sync available in one application
  • You require enhanced support options
  • You require administrator access and management of user accounts
  • You'd like first access to ongoing functionality enhacements (e.g., as the Google and Salesforce APIs evolve, we'd like to be able to bring more information from Salesforce into your Google contacts and events)
We anticipate that many customers will be happy continuing to use our standard edition-- customers who rely on contact or calendar sync in core parts of their business will find a lot of value in premium edition
