Candidate Profile

Appirio is looking for a dynamic professional with strong accounting abilities, who is able to contribute in the areas of payroll, financial reporting and general ledger management. The ideal candidate will have background in accounting, payroll administration and financial analysis. You must have strong communication skills, allowing you to successfully communicate with internal Appirio team members and external Finance stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in both a self-directed or collaborative environment
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude toward the company, the work, the vision and the people
  • Strong oral and written communication
  • BS/BA in accounting, finance or a related discipline
  • At least two years of payroll experience, preferably with ADP
  • Audit experience preferred

Duties

This position has two primary sets of duties – Staff Accountant (~70% of role) and Payroll Specialist (~30% of role) - primarily supporting the Assistant Controller.

The Staff Accountant plays an integral part in the collection and reporting of financial data for Appirio.

Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Assistant Controller with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing and collections
  • Supporting account consolidations and reconciliations
  • Preparation of journal entries
  • Assist with the monthly, quarterly and year-end close process
  • Ensure that Appirio is compliance with all local, state and federal business taxes, such as Sales Tax, B&O Tax and etc.
  • Special projects as required, including support of Appirio’s upcoming financial audit

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing semi-monthly payroll, managing the ADP vendor relationship, handling various payroll interfaces, interfacing with Human Resources on employee add/change/terminations, and being the first level of support to Appirio’s employee base on payroll related questions.

Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Process earnings, deductions and taxes; disability, new hires, terminations, garnishments, bonus, 401k deductions, state, federal and local taxes
  • Maintain timecards for exempt employees
  • Complete regular attendance, medical leave and vacation reporting
  • Timely response to inquiries for information in all areas of the Payroll Administrator’s duties
  • Prepare/verify month-end reports including monthly payroll bank account reconciliation
  • Process various interfaces and direct deposits

Written and verbal communications with employees in regards to paychecks, deductions, taxes and earnings
