Enterprise Architect, Cloud Strategy

Overview

Appirio is looking for an experienced enterprise architect to help us accelerate enterprise adoption of the cloud by defining and delivering cloud strategy offerings for Appirio's delivery team.

Primary Responsibilities

Develop a methodology to create business and technology roadmaps for enterprise adoption of cloud computing, including:

• Map of current and future state business, information, and technology architecture
• Technical assessment of various cloud platforms vs. enterprise needs
• Delivering blueprints for the enterprise that can be used to launch and guide IT initiatives
• Quantification of business and technology benefits from migration

Enable the scalable delivery of this methodology to Appirio's cloud strategy customers:

• Deliver these new cloud strategy offerings to customers for the first time, and assist in the packaging of these offerings into repeatable services by Appirio's delivery team (e.g., define approach, perform analysis, develop recommendations, syndicate final report)
• Enable the distributed members of our cloud strategy center of excellence to deliver these offerings (e.g., through running training and certification programs)
• Expert assistance in delivery of projects as required to ensure the success and satisfaction of Appirio's cloud strategy customers
• Work with sales to generate demand for our cloud strategy offerings (e.g., brought in as an expert on sales cycles)

Your success will be measured by:

• Success and satisfaction of Appirio's cloud strategy customers
• Amount of follow-on business generated for Appirio as a result of our engagements
• ~35% utilization (billable and/or non-billable)

Key Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience, 5 years as an Enterprise Architect in a large, progressive enterprise and/or vendor
• Experience serving enterprise IT at a leading professional services firm
• Experience packaging and scaling enterprise architecture service offerings
• Technology background with SOA, Java/J2EE, .Net, Windows, Linux, Websphere MQ, Websphere Application Server,JBoss, Apache, Java, Ant, XML/XSL, Ajax, SQL Server, DB2, Oracle
• Experience with SaaS/PaaS and on-demand platforms and applications
• BS/CS, IS or equivalent required
• Up to 50% travel initially, dropping to 25% as practice grows
