Delivery Manager

On-demand software is changing the world. More than ever, large companies are deploying systems such as Salesforce.com and Google Apps, instead of installing and maintaining their own on-premise applications. An Appirio Delivery Manager will manage and mentor a group of Appirio consultants, enabling them to guide our customers through implementation and integration of these on-demand enterprise technologies. You will be part of a revolution in IT, working with cutting-edge software-as-a-service (SaaS) technologies as you help customers realize the benefits of on-demand software – no maintenance, easier configuration, higher reliability, and wider adoption.

Candidate Profile

• Management experience with direct reports - enjoys coaching and mentoring a team
• Enthusiastic, professional, and confident personality, with a focus on team and individual consultant success
• Excellent listening skills to fully understand big picture
• Technical acumen to support consultants in a technical environment
• Driven by customer success with a team player attitude
• Located and able to work in the U.S. and able to travel up to 25%
• Able to effectively support a team of consultants predominantly based in the Central region
• Able to work from a home office

Preferred Skills/Experience

• B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, Business or equivalent
• 8+ years experience with consulting or equivalent
• 3+ years experience managing technical teams

Duties

Delivery Managers will typically have 20-25 direct reports and be responsible for their team in all respects. Specific areas of responsibility include coordinating with other regional Delivery Managers and the Director of Delivery Management in the following areas:

• Coaching and Mentoring
  • Onboarding new consultants and partners with direct mentoring and ramp-up activities
  • Meeting directly with consulting team members on their career goals, career development, and performance feedback on projects
  • Demonstrating leadership, mentoring your team as they grow their technical, business, and consulting skills
  • Sharing technical guidance through brainstorming sessions, and development of best practices
  • Working with team members to develop customer relationships, expanding their customer network beyond the immediate project team
  • Establishing and maintaining feedback loop with Engagement Managers for consultant feedback on projects
• Recruiting
  • Building team via recruiting to meet company staff plans each quarter
  • Working with corporate recruiters
• Employee Development and Retention
  • Focusing on skills acquisition and development based on backlog and opportunity pipeline as well as new corporate initiatives
  • Ensuring certification plans are in place and being implemented
  • Oversee continuing education initiatives
  • Coordinate with Community Architect to establish, implement, and maintain internal Appirio Community
  • Oversee internal Appirio Ideas program
  • Provide leadership for Centers of Excellence
• Financials
  • Ensuring your consulting team reaches individual utilization targets
  • Collaborating with other Appirio managers to optimize consultant assignments across all projects
  • Forecast revenues for assigned region
• Human Resources
  • Helping consultants manage customer assignments and guide their careers
  • Planning continuous training opportunities for team members
  • Managing drafting and final evaluation of Incentive Compensation Plan goals and objectives
  • Ensuring your team's records are accurately maintained and up to date
